Benn began his recruitment career at MSB International, one of Europe's largest I.T. recruitment consultancies. Benn started out in the European sales team, where he quickly established his ability in sales. He was then promoted to senior consultant in the UK's technical support team, providing contract staff to the I.T. desktop/network support market.
In 2001, with the change in demand of the I.T market, Benn was recruited by Selected Options Limited at senior consultant level. At Selected Options, his focus was on the management of existing key accounts and the development of a programme/project management desk. Benn supplied a wide market - most notably the public sector - with both technical and business-focused programme/project staff.
In 2003 Benn left the recruitment sector to work as a business development consultant for a number of start-up ventures. Recruitment was never far from
his mind, however, and in 2004 Benn approached his good friend and mentor Charles Buckley with the exciting prospect of developing a recruitment consultancy dedicated to enterprise-wide risk management. Few, if any, recruiters understood this market, which was rapidly increasing its business profile. Charles and Benn realised that there was a need for a company that understood the challenges facing and, indeed, the aims of the modern risk manager.
Buckley Alan Limited was created in 2004 to meet this need.
